After the verdict, Perry still investigates to try to find the real killer among the heirs. As it turns out it was a natural death, but it set in motion the whole plot of this case with the homicide of gangster Gregory Morton. Called in by Banning Grant, Perry learns that con artists have been selling phony gold mines.
